Job Description:
CrossMed is seeking an experienced and detail-driven Controller to lead our accounting operations and ensure the financial health and integrity of the organization. The Controller will oversee all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, compliance and internal controls while supporting strategic decision-making through accurate and timely financial analysis.
The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a strong background in accounting and finance, exceptional organization skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments. This position will work closely with executive leadership to drive financial performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and support CrossMed’s continued growth.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting, Controls, & Accounting Operations
- Own the monthly close process and create timely financial statements.
- Implement and improve internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Manage day-to-day accounting functions including:
- Accounts payable and expense management.
- Accounts receivable, billing, and cash application.
- Payroll.
- General ledger, bank and credit card transactions.
- Oversee revenue recognition, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial risk exposure.
- Ensure proper documentation and retention of financial records
Budget & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with executive leadership.
- Prepare rolling forecasts and financial projections.
- Analyze budget variances and provide explanations and recommendations.
- Support long-term financial planning and growth initiatives.
Strategic & Operational Support
- Partner with executive leadership on financial strategy and business decisions.
- Provide financial analysis on profitability, contracts, pricing, and operational performance.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, and integration efforts, as applicable.
- Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Evaluate and optimize accounting systems, reporting tools and automation opportunities.
Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
- Establish performance expectations and conduct regular evaluations.
- Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Identify staffing, training and system needs to support growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
- Prior Controller or Senior Accounting Manager experience preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong analytical skills.
- Experience with QuickBooks.
- Strong work ethic and self-initiative.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
