Job Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Sales Trainer to lead the onboarding and training process for new hires and ongoing development of our sales team. The ideal candidate will take total ownership of new hire orientation, ensuring that new salespeople quickly integrate into the company and gain a deep understanding of sales processes, tools, systems, strategies, and target customers. The Sales Trainer will also be responsible for developing and delivering high-impact sales training programs, coaching individual salespeople, and working closely with sales leaders to continuously improve team performance and sales effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- New Hire Orientation:
- Lead the onboarding process for new sales hires, helping them integrate smoothly into the company by providing a comprehensive understanding of sales processes, tools, and systems.
- Ensure that new hires understand the company’s sales strategies, target customers, and organizational goals.
- Training Material Development:
- Develop and refine engaging and effective sales training materials, including presentations, manuals, and role-playing scenarios.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to create relevant training content and ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Sales Training and Facilitation:
- Facilitate in-person or virtual training workshops for sales teams on product knowledge, sales techniques, and soft-skill development (e.g., communication, negotiation, and relationship-building).
- Lead training on key systems, including Bullhorn, 8×8, TextUs, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
- One-on-One Coaching:
- Provide ongoing, personalized coaching for individual salespeople, addressing specific challenges and refining sales techniques to enhance their performance.
- Observe sales calls and meetings, offering constructive feedback and actionable suggestions for improvement.
- Collaboration with Sales Leaders:
- Work closely with sales leaders to identify skill gaps, training needs, and areas for development within the team.
- Tailor training programs to address business goals, challenges, and market conditions, ensuring they remain aligned with company objectives.
- Advanced Sales Training:
- Train sales teams on advanced selling techniques, including consultative selling, solution selling, closing strategies, and objection handling.
- Foster a high-performance sales culture by motivating sales representatives to achieve and exceed targets.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up to date with industry best practices and incorporate them into training sessions to ensure the sales team remains competitive and well-prepared.
- Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, gather feedback, and make adjustments to improve learning outcomes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of sales experience with at least 1-2 years in a sales training or coaching role preferred.
- Proven success in sales, with a strong understanding of sales processes and techniques.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to develop and deliver engaging training materials and sessions.
- Proficiency in sales tools and systems, including CRM software (e.g., Bullhorn), communication tools (e.g., 8×8, TextUs), and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams).
- Expertise in various sales methodologies, including consultative and solution selling, closing strategies, and objection handling.
- Strong coaching and mentoring abilities, with the ability to provide constructive feedback.
- Attributes:
- Motivational and influential, with the ability to inspire and develop sales talent.
- Strong analytical skills to assess the effectiveness of training programs and sales performance.
- Self-driven and able to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
